It should be enough to replace everything in your home, it includes everything that you can take out of your home. Think worst case scenario.

Walk around your home, room by room and note down the estimated value of everything you see (and don’t see in cupboards). This should include furniture, curtains and rugs, electronic itesm (phones, laptops, tv’s etc) and of course your most treasured valuable items (jewellery, watches, artwork etc).

Often people forget to factor in some of the following things

  • White goods

  • Cutlery and crockery

  • Pots & pans

  • Clothes and shoes

  • Books and trinkets

  • Sports equipment

If you require help valuing your valuable items see this article.
